So this morning I left home for the daily school run. As usual I took my car key, my wallet and my phone. After dropping my daughter at school I stopped for my usual medium soya lattè I paid using Apple pay on my phone. I had to get some medicine from the pharmacy and went to pay and realised I could pay in the same way. I walked to my car and didn’t need take my car key out of my pocket as my car has a keyless entry feature.
So my whole morning routine was a contactless one. Contactless is here and seems to be growing rapidly. What will this mean for us? How will it impact our lives in 12 months from now?
It should empower us, give us a more seamless, less cluttered life.
The warning though is only payments should be contactless. Contactless is NOT good when the idea permeates our thinking in how we do all of life. Mankind needs contact. As we embrace HIGH TECH, we should with the same zeal pursue HIGH value in our relationships; rather than relying on a text or a social media post/ message, meet up! Spend time face to face.

So true … Everyone seems to be so busy staying “in touch” with friends via their electronics that even using the landline to “speak” to people has, for some, become awkward. We’ve re-instituted family dinner time …. No TV, no cell phones etc … Just TALKING to each other … It’s been great 😄
