If you are lonely in leadership, you’re doing it wrong

I do understand it when I read blogs and articles and leaders say that it is lonely to lead. I mean to lead a Church, a major ministry department, a life group etc. I also understand that we are often ‘alone’ in the burden/s that we carry.
But this is the thing – we NEED to do leadership in teams. It is way more fun, a richer experience and it’s NOT lonely.
Added to that as a Christian leader we have a promise Matthew 28 , Jesus tells He is with us always, to the end of the age.
One more thing: if you feel lonely, make friends 🙂 speak to other leaders. Hang out with people who do similar types of leadership. Attend a conference. Don’t do nothing though.

With all these things I have mentioned as leaders if we are feeling lonely, I reckon we doing leadership wrong.

Just saying.

  1. some great truth here. the excuse, “leadership is lonely” must not be tolerated any longer. sometimes it is said as a “humble brag”. leaders must be intentional in leading themselves to address their personal challenges, which includes reaching out. thanks for this Dennis 😉
