Do your opinions get in the way of your actions?

Could it be that the resistance we face in our behaviours is really just a result of strongly formed opinions?

Let’s take an example: Prayer. One might have formed an opinion that is feels like just talking, it doesn’t seem like it will help me. I read it in scripture but it doesn’t really feel very practical. My OPINION says rather do stuff to change or fix my life and if I get to it I will pray. Or, when I am at my wits end, I will pray as a last ditch attempt at getting God’s attention and perhaps he will FIX me or my problem.

What’s the answer? I don’t claim to have many of those 😀 I would suggest that taking action even when it is opposition to our well formed opinion is GREAT FAITH! Faith pleases God. We may form brand new opinions from action. One action could lead to habit and therefore new opinion.

Don’t be a slave to your opinion.

Keep Jesus the hero of your story.
