Use the tools that you have

I love reading the word of God!! It has fed me and the Holy Spirit has given me direction more times than I can count or remember.

Often though I would follow a short term reading plan and it was really solid content but I would be wanting more.

At the end of 2018 I had resolved to read through the whole Bible in a version that I had not used before. I was aware of a few Bible in a year reading plans but I did not want to simply read through pages of text. My goal was to go deeper.

I am 11 days in as I started just before the end of 2018. I am loving this journey and the plan I am following is exceeding expectations ten fold!

Two pieces of advice:

1) read through the whole Bible. It always yields great fruit in your life!

2) Go to the ‘Bible app’ (you version) There are many Bible in a year plans to follow. The one I am using and highly recommend is Bible in one year with commentary by Nicky Gumbel.

My realization has been that I really do have EVERYTHING I NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS – 2 Peter 1:3

I’m reading the @YouVersion plan ‘Bible in One Year 2019’. Check it out here:

Add this one life giving discipline to your routine for 2019 and I promise you it will benefit every part of your life.

  1. I’m doing Nicky Gumbel’s Bible in One Year, too. I just realized that there’s audio available of the devotional content, but only on the mobile app. I’ve been listening to it in my car on the way to work in the mornings. If there’s audio of the Bible translation you’ve chosen, the app will read those aloud, too.
