So I have heard so often in the last while, how bad it is that the millennial generation want things NOW.
The commentary normally picks up that a young person can’t wait for things. How bad it is to expect things t happen in an instant.
I get really irritated when we get down on the next generation for how much time they spend on screens (mobiles, tablets and laptops) and how this is killing the values of reading and socialising blah, blah, etc.
If there were to be any blame aportioned for this, it should be firmly placed at the feet of the gen’xers and the boomer generations. They/ we created the paradigm that young people now experience as reality.
Tech companies have made billions in revenue for these key inventions that have changed our world forever. People have been employed and incomes have been derived in previous generations from these industries. They spent decades creating, marketing and selling these products and technologies.
Instead of an older generation being like a prosecutor and jury, could we not be more the a cheer squad and a counsellor to encourage and set future generations up for success in our constantly progressing world.
