Today started off with worship and then an explanation of all they use for a worship experience. Really powerful! Then we heard about their assimilation process including a great way to connect people into community.

In the afternoon we heard from the director of the Willow Creek care centre. After hearing the heart beat and journey of the care centre we go t to go on a tour.This facility includes a clothing shop for children where parents can buy clothes for their kids but at a fraction of the price of anywhere else. They have a grocery store where people can take a basket and pick out groceries. They have a massive storage facility (see pic above), where they store their food. Another facility where they wash all the clothes that are donated, before they are put into the clothing shop.

They have a garage where cars are donated and also others repaired for single parents. They have had 742 cars donated this year.

BUT there is more. They have a 4 room dental surgery and an optometry service. This is before they get onto long term services. Like debt help, helping to find employment, etc.

I was a mess! The whole day but especially while touring through the care centre. As I could SEE a heart and passion for people less fortunate. Compassion bleeds through everything. And then I could see excellence and they have a focus on excellence in the care centre because excellence gives dignity. Allowing people to choose their clothing and food. Gives dignity. Excellence fosters trust and confidence and in this case honours God!
