So once you know God has spoken to you. (Please don’t attempt a Church plant if God hasn’t spoken to you.) You go into a phase of preparation and planning. This is seriously exciting and very motivating. There is a need at this point to make sure that you unaware of the activity of the enemy. What I mean by this is that things have the potential to get you down. You start to plan and prepare and you begin to see what you DON’T have leading up to the launch of the Church. This focus on lack can cripple you and begin to discourage you. In this headspace I had to talk to people that I trusted and I had to be very intentional about going to God who had spoken to us to plant and reassure myself of HIS word and HIS promises.
The enemy is a liar and deceiver and you may find yourself only focussing on your weaknesses as a leader and what you lack in money, leaders and other resources. Even if you DO have deficiencies as a leader and even if you DO lack money and other resources. It doesn’t have to discourage or cripple you. Take this stuff to God!!
Make it practical – get a team of people to pray for YOU! take time out during your day/week to just get real with the Lord to tell him your worries.
This period of time before the launch day can be very exciting! There is SO much unknown that you are dealing. If you can be comfortable with being in an environment where nothing is in your control, you will be ok.
You are a pioneer , cutting a path for others to follow and THAT can be hard, draining, tedious work yet at the same time totally exhilarating.
It is God’s Church and He will build it!! Take courage and confidence in that!
QUOTE:
THE PIONEER SPIRIT…
The cowards never started.
The weak died on the way.
Only the strong arrived.
They were the pioneers.

I like how you highlight the two sides, the “spiritual” stuff and the “practical” (not that there is any distinction between the two but for lack of a better way to explain). There is the God aspect and there is the part were you need to do something. Getting people rallying behind you is important way of guarding God’s assignment. Great thoughts…
